The list of premium componentry on the 2007 XLR is virtually endless. It begins with the 320 hp Northstar V8, the latest version of a legendary luxury car engine. Paired with this distinguished powerplant is a new-for-2007 6-speed automatic transmission. The fully independent Magnetic Ride Control suspension adjusts up to 1000 times per second to tailor XLR's ride and handling characteristics to match the driving conditions. Adaptive Cruise Control uses radar technology to detect slower vehicles ahead during highway driving and help reduce XLR's speed when necessary to maintain a safe following distance. Other XLR standard amenities include a steerable adaptive forward lighting system, passive remote locking and unlocking, push-button start, DVD navigation with voice recognition and genuine eucalyptus wood trim.
